Professional Interests
My interests have developed from previous experience in real estate, my tertiary education, and life experience. I am interested in inclusive communities and the overall social planning field, as well as community engagement. I am also interested in innovative practices in urban landscapes that are sustainable and improve quality of life for residents.
I also enjoy learning about cultural heritage, particularly after my Hong Kong research and travels to Japan, specifically how residents view cultural heritage; the need to preserve these aspects for the future; and how to blend old and new aspects in an urban landscape.
I regularly read journals and blogs by professional planners to nurture these interests and gain a better understanding of the issues faced. Below is a link to a blog I regularly read as it covers a wide variety of issues and discussions within planning.
